For the first year and a half we lived in our house we had no tub and no real shower. We took showers at the bottom of the stairs over a drain. (Our basement is unfinished.) This shower apparently was good enough for everyone who lived here since 1941. I can tell you that it was not fun and especially sucked in the winter. We had guests use this shower because we had nothing else to offer. I suppose it is something that they will never forget. :) Anyway, my brother was one of those guests and he named the shower "spikes" because the water pressure is so hard that it is like little needles are hitting your skin. We no longer use this "shower," but it is still around...
